Kay Guay Enterprise Co., Ltd was incorporated in 1973 when many metallic product manufacturers were also established at that time. In the preliminary stage of operation, the company mainly produced furniture hardware in the 330 sqm factory. Up to now, Kay Guay has 2 factories in Ciaotou, which span the area of 3,967 sqm in total and are used to offer global customers exquisite products. The introduction of many sets of manufacturing facilities makes Kay Guay flexible in accepting orders of large quantities. In addition to “furniture hardware” that sells well in the market, the company then expanded business to “special parts” 5 years ago and its brand has been quite famous in the industry. The company can be considered an example that has successfully turned to the development of other products.

Successful Product Development and Market Expansion Under 2nd Generation’s Leadership

Kay Guay starting business with techniques can offer M3-M12 metallic products in carbon/stainless steel, copper, and aluminum, which are usually for export. When doing business Kay Guay is always pleased to communicate with customers. It has been doing direct trade for a long time with markets in Europe, New Zealand/Australia, South America, and Near East, in order to maintain stable cooperation.

Kay Guay passes on to the 2nd generation earlier than other Taiwanese competitors do. Mr. Kei Chuang, who has worked in the company for 15 years, said, “The 2nd generation of Kay Guay has passed through the adjustment period and succeeded professional product knowledge from the predecessors. In the past 15 years Kay Guay achieved two major breakthroughs: one is the transition from being a contractor to being a direct trader, and the other is the business expansion to special parts.” At the present, the proportion for furniture hardware and special parts production is 70% to 30%. As for the production value, there is also a remarkable result in the segment of special parts, which can be attributed to customers’ recognition to Kay Guay’s quality. It is expected that Kay Guay will experience a successful transition to a professional manufacturer of special parts.

Honesty Plays a Critical Role in Competition with Large-size Investors

Concerned about the global situation, Mr Chuang said, “Technology changes the way of global purchase. With the prevailing Internet and requirement for transparent information, Kay Guay started to serve customers who only made one-off orders 5 years ago and such standard parts buyers were one of the main reasons that pushed us to focus on other product development.” Having cooperated with local manufacturers for years, Chuang said, “I completely believe that only professionals know professionals and communication using  technical terms works better to upgrade the level of each other.”

Speaking of ways to stand out in the red ocean, Chuang said, “Metal forging technologies have developed for so many years and one cannot become a winner only by techniques and service, so I believe honesty is the only way to achieve sustainable operation.”
