According to China’s Customs, during January to May, China imported US$297.31 billion of mechanical and electrical products (up 20.6% over the same period); US$180.21 billion of hi-tech products (up 17.3 %); US$45.2 billion of iron ores and pure materials (up 59.6%); US$19.4 billion of plastic materials (up 8%); US$16.13 billion of cars including spare parts (up 35%); US$13.56 billion of unforged copper (down 4.4%); US$12.07 billion of automatic data processing equipment and parts (up 6.2%); US$10.3 billion of quantitative measuring & analysis instruments (up 34%); US$9.23 billion of steel (up 13.7%); US$9.08 billion of metal scrap (up 18.3%); US$8.86 billion of automotive parts (16.8%); US$7.06 billion of parts for automatic data processing equipment (down 7.2%).
