Japanese HAIOS Takes on Challenge of Standardized Production of the Innovative

2014-10-17

HAIOS Inc has developed "InterTorque" screw head that adds a newly-designed "Super Point" recess onto the original Hexalobular recess to improve operation and the mating between the screw and bit. The company is heading for standardized production of "InterTorque" for the screw market. Nowadays factories pursue automated production, and to this trend HAIOS chairman says, "The age of making a female recess within a recess has finally come."

"InterTorque" has excellent torque transmission, coupled with the hexalobular recess preventing from cam out, as well as the "Super Point" recess which leads a "super-pointed" bit into the recess center and locks the bit tightly to prevent from swinging. Common hexalobular screws tend to form a 9.5 degree angle with bits during fastening, but with the "InterTorque" design the angle will be reduced to under 2 degrees while preventing from galling and coating peeled off on the screw.
