U-Chance Releases High-Strength Magnesium Alloy Screws

2014-04-21
~Located in Southern Taiwan, U-Chance with its unique technology not only successfully developed a series of magnesium alloy screws (with high strength, malleability, and low price), but also developed 7075 high strength aluminum alloy screws admired by the market.

General Manager Hank Hung said, magnesium alloy screws are squeezed to the desired shape with “warm forging” and adjustments can be made directly on the former to reach a temperature suitable to shape the magnesium alloy, then the way generally used to produce basic screws are adopted for mass production.
He pointed, as the weight of a magnesium alloy screw is almost 1/6 weight of a basic steel screw or even lighter, if compared to other industrial plastic screws, it will not crack and is fully compliant with requirements for lightweight products.
If applied to other products made of magnesium, e.g. bicycles, there will be no problem for the combination and the body applied will not be damaged. The application is very comprehensive with good prospect and is expected to be able to replace existing industrial plastic screws.
Hung said, the series of magnesium alloy screws will be mainly promoted to France, except for the commonly preferred Germany, as the requirements of French industries are comparatively strict and this kind of products are mostly used on Air Bus. The feature of magnesium alloy screws can fit with the demand.
In addition, it has successfully developed 7075 high strength aluminum alloy screws. Hung said, it is much easier to shape aluminum than magnesium alloy. As Taiwan CSC has recently developed titanium wire coil and titanium alloy, we can manufacture with materials like titanium, magnesium, and aluminum and process with the unique “warm forging”.
