Congratulations to SRC’s 30th Anniversary and New Factory Inauguration

Special Rivets Corp. (SRC) was established in 1983 and is specialized in the R&D and production of blind rivets and riveting tools in a variety of materials. Bringing “SRC” as a brand to the world and keeping searching for better quality as its mission statement, SRC has been in a fast pace to accumulate its customer base with its blind rivets and riveting tools widely appreciated by customers. Nowadays, the products of SRC have been exported to over 100 countries around the world and it has established frequent contacts with over 600 companies. Being a leading brand in several marketplaces, SRC has become one of the major manufacturers of blind rivets.
In response to the fast changing economic conditions around the world and the rise of China, in 2000 SRC established its first manufacturing plant- SRC Metal (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. with the net floor of 20,000sqm in Songjiang Industrial Park based in Shanghai, China. With the addition of two new modern factories and the office building as well as the introduction of precision equipment from Taiwan and Italy, SRC is able to continuously upgrade the automated capacity and reduce the production cost to satisfy customers’ demand. As the capacity will always increase with the growing orders from customers, it invested capital in 2003 in establishing its 2nd factory- SRC Metal (Jiashan) Co., Ltd. in Jiashan Economic and Technological Development Zone based in Zhejiang, China. By introducing the precision equipment from Taiwan and purchasing continuous heat treating furnaces, the total capacity can be multiplied and the quality of products can comply with the requirements of any application.
The history of the global market for blind rivets and riveting tools has spanned for at least 100 years. However, companies from the industrial countries in Europe and the U.S. are still advantageous in the development of high end products. On the other hand, the use of blind rivets has been extended to more applications day after day, so it is necessary to introduce new equipment and improve technology in order to cater to users’ growing demand. Accordingly, SRC rented the net floor of 34,000sqm from Jiashan government and invested capital in building a new and modern production base. After 2 years of soil preparation and building construction, the factories and the office building with the total area of 34,000sqm have been finally finished and have been officially inaugurated on November 15, 2013 with the concurrently held celebration for the 30th anniversary of SRC.

Total Capacity Expected to Rise by 60%
With the current assets as well as the new factory based in Jiashan, SRC expects that the total capacity will go up by 60% in 3 years. Besides the growing capacity, the implementation of ISO9000 and the compliance with TS16949 within the new factory have been also in process. All staff of the factory are fulfilling their jobs in anticipation of attaining the certificate in the shortest time. The current products are widely supplied to light industry applications. SRC will continue to invest in purchasing more advanced automated equipment, arranging more rationalized manufacturing procedure, expanding the portfolio of products and R&D scenarios, directing the development of main products to automobiles, aerospace, and construction, and continuously developing various structural high end rivets in order to find a niche for sustainable operation.

SRC is proud of being part of the industry. Considering the success after years of efforts, President Jimmy Chang said in the inauguration, “We should appreciate the efforts of all the loyal and capable staff. In terms of the customer base of SRC around the world, many of them have been doing business with it for over 20 years. SRC will continue to create another value needed by customers. After 30 years of economic reform of China, China has been, of course, not a cheap production base anymore and it will need more automated equipment to reduce the demand for labor force. On the other hand, now is the right time to develop the Chinese market with enormous domestic demand by making use of the emerging middle class to create another successful 30 years of SRC.
