The reduced tooling times are the result of enabling ergonomic access to all tool positions and the ability to program tools, material characteristics and bending sequences simply and quickly. Stored characteristic curves take into account the spring-back behaviour of the wire and allow more precise realization of the angle input. Free M functions permit the integration and control of additional set-ups. Simple geometric programming of leg length, bending angle and plane angle simplify set-up while keeping tooling times to a minimum. A uniform programming system is consistently incorporated in all model series, which means that experienced WAFIOS users quickly become familiar with the machine, while newcomers can find their way quickly and intuitively as they are guided safely through the graphically aided menu environment.

A roller straightener for the entire workplace saves refitting work. Then there are all the familiar advantages of fully-electronic, non-hydraulic designs in terms of reduced susceptibility to error and maintenance requirements.

A tool holder can be employed with various models, with plug & play design, which sustainably increases availability without the need for any adapters or add-ons.

New! Also with additional iQ functions for enhanced efficiency!

...iQwire enables the bent-component production process to be simulated graphically. This makes it possible to set up the part – without hindering the machine, check the process for collisions, calculate the cycle time, and effect any optimizations.

...iQbend enables automatic optimization of the CNC program sequences, using controlled bending to neutralize oscillation of long and unstable bent components. This increases the quality of parts at the touch of a button, not to mention process speed and stability. iQbend increases the “availability of the machine” while at the same time “increasing output”. Oscillations in long and unstable components during the bending process can lead to a drop in quality, time-consuming corrections and a fall in production efficiency.

Highly flexible machine design covering a very broad range of parts

The three independently controllable mandrel and bending axes and the two bending-pin lowering axes plus the optional cutting movement open up fully new possibilities of production and bending variations in the field of thick and spring-hard wires.

The standard bending head has seven axes for transverse stroke, up and down stroke, mandrel axis, and two bending axes. In addition, the bending pins of the bending axes can be lowered axially, independently of each other, which represents yet another considerable expansion of the component spectrum. Added to this are the optimized output enhancement tools for special bending components plus options for additional operations, such as chamfering. The bending machine can be expanded into a torsion spring and transfer bending system with the optional addition of a coiling unit and a bending unit for use following cutting.

The high availability, performance, flexibility and service life of the BM 90 show it to be a future-oriented machine design that offers high investment security and value stability for many years. The BM 90 can be deployed for the production of spring tines, head supports or conductor holders in such fields as agriculture and the automobile and commercial vehicle industry
