The steel metallurgy plant affiliated to Russian Severstal-Metiz has stepped into the mass production of fasteners (e.g. bolts, nuts, and washers). These products are not only for external sales, but also beneficial to a better bolted joint of parts manufactured by the company.
The successful production of these fasteners is attributed to the introduction of brand new automation machines into the steel metallurgy plant, which can be used to manufacture M20-M27 fasteners and the average capacity can be 28 pieces every minute.
President of Severstal-Metiz Oleg Vetel said, "Fasteners are one of the most important items the company is focusing on. As a result, the Group invests a lot of resources and attention in seeking for 'best of the best.' By increasing the diversity and quality of products, the company can provide better services and solutions to the customers. Take fasteners as an example, customers care about the efficiency and easy operation of the products. I think we can do it at this point."
The current fastener products of Severstal-Metiz metallurgy plant are fasteners, which are mostly applied to bridge construction, because the products display features of high strength, better fastening and the application of hot dip galvanizing. The company is planning to expand the production line and expects to produce fasteners in galvanized materials used for the electrical wiring and installation in the future.
