Severstal-metiz Launches Production of New Steel Fiber

The metallurgical plant of Severstal-metiz, Russia announced that the factory in Cherepovets, Russia has successfully launched the production of the HENDIX steel fiber, and the product have been certified by EN 14889-1:2006. This certification granted the new product the right to be sold to EU countries.
Previously, the steel fiber under the trademark HENDIX was only produced in Dneprometiz, the Ukraine factory of Severstal-metiz. But, due to the increasing demand for the steel fiber in Northern Europe and Russian domestic market, the company decided to develop a new production line to the factory in Cherepovets in order to increase production of the HENDIX steel fiber.
To cooperate with the expansion of the steel fiber business, Severstal-metiz has also launched a large-scale investment plans which include a tenfold speed wire drawing machine imported from Germany for the production of the steel fiber of 0.6 to 1.2 mm, and a high-tech steel fiber rolling machine imported from Serbia.
The company successfully acquired EN 14889-1:2006 certification last fall and received the certificate on October 17th. Experts of leading Europe certification organization had came to the factory site to check the production procedure from the wire preparation to finished products shipment, the geometric parameters of steel fiber products, their mechanical properties as well as the quality control process.
Accordingly, any steel fiber finished products sold to Europe must comply with EN 14889-1:2006 certification and HENDIX 1/50 and HENDIX PRIME 75/52 steel fiber products of the Cherepovets factory have both acquired the certification.
Oleg Veter, Head of the Severstal-metiz group, indicated that the company is the only Russian company which can provide steel fiber production and technical support. "After the success of the certification of HENDIX steel fiber, we plan to increase HENDIX steel fiber production as its demand from both the domestic and foreign users continue to grow," Oleg Veter said.
It is noteworthy that combined with the most favorable logistics between Russia and Ukraine, HENDIX steel fiber production volume will be distributed between Severstal-metiz's Russian and Ukrainian production sites.
