Severstal-metiz Set Up New Base in Moscow to Expand Wire Rope Business

Techi Rus, a subsidiary of Russian Severstal-metiz, has committed to expanding its distribution business of wire rope products. The company set up a new base in Moscow recently, which signifies that Severstal-metiz has entered the Russian heartland and has further grasped the consumers in the capital area. This will strengthen the company's logistics support, reduce transportation costs and provide customers with immediate service in order to expand its potential customer base in the future.
At the initial stage, Techi Rus's new branch in Moscow only focuses on the finished products business, and meanwhile it launches construction works to build a warehouse as a necessary platform. In the near future, it expects to purchase special machinery and equipment for ropes cutting business.
Before the base was established in Moscow, Techi Rus has invested in production facilities in Cherepovets and Volgograd. The two facilities both have modern machines and equipment whose capabilities are ahead of those of the most Russian companies in the same industry. For example, the testing equipment of wire rope loads and tensile weight up to 158 tons and the test machine which can bear wire rope weight up to 500 tons. These are the unique service projects of Severstal-metiz, and they also represent the company's product quality can passed the most stringent test.
Oleg Veter, Head of Severstal-metiz, noted that the company has become a market leader and the after-sales service network must be fully developed. Also, the new base in Moscow will be responsible for the service of the key customers in central Russia where economy strongly grows. This layout not only facilitates the expansion of the customer base but also enhances the cooperation efficiency with the existing customers.
