In the space station there is no hardware retailing store, but this doesn’t mean astronauts cannot get the tools they need. The astronauts in the International Space Station (ISS) utilized the customized zero-gravity 3D printer with design transmitted from the Earth to make a new ratchet wrench. This new wrench was designed by a California-based company, “Made in Space,” which was also the inventor of the 3D printer in the ISS. Another 3D printer was once used in the ISS, but its design had been already tested before it left the Earth. The company declared that the new tool was designed and tested on the Earth, and was then sent to the printer. It took about 4 hours to print the wrench out.
