TFTA Membership Conference and 5th Reelection of Directors & Supervisors, Mr. Jim C. N. Chen, President of Hwa Hsing, Takes Up New Position of 2012 TFTA Chairman

Taiwan Fastener Trading Association held the Autumn Membership Conference and the Fifth Reelection of Directors and Supervisors on September 9th at Evergreen Plaza Hotel in Tainan. Nearly 180 members from different places of Taiwan attended and celebrated the reelection together. The reelection ceremony began with the member registration at two o’clock in the afternoon. For the former heads and chairmen were permanent consultants of TFTA, so they were not listed in the candidates. The vote shows Ms. Fancia Day of QST International and the other 19 people are directors-elect and supervisors-elect while the next Chairman-elect is Mr. Jim C. N. Chen of Hwa Hsing Screw after the unanimous determination of new directors and supervisors. The handover will be held on December 7th in Grand Hi-Lai Hotel in Kaohsiung.
The membership conference began with the incumbent Chairwoman Ms. Tammy Huang’s brief opening statement and report of conference affairs. In addition to the reelection of the directors and supervisors, TFTA prepared two keynote speeches, inviting Mr. William Yang special assistant of General Manager of Yoang Ming Industrial and Mr. Alex Chang General Manager of Value Consultancy Services to contribute professional speeches and making the attending members share experience with each other as well as seizing the opportunity to promptly comprehend important industry news.
Insightful and Beneficial Keynote Speeches
The first keynote speech on “Introduction to CE Marking” was given by Mr. William Yang of Yoang Ming. Owing to the implementation of EU’s CPD (construction products directive), Yang focused on the analysis of the content of CE marking requirements, CPD related regulations, the application procedure and the future development in response to the special CPD regulations and requirements as well as avoiding the loss of EU construction fastener export market due to the implementation. The attending members benefited a lot from Yang’s elaborate speech.
The next speech titled “What Chief Manager Must Know” was given by Mr. Alex Chang of Value Consultancy Services. Since the attending members were mostly the owners or managers in charge of the companies, the speech particularly drew a lot of attention. There were three topics of the speech: “To acknowledge your responsibility as a company manager,” “How a basic level manager establishes credibility” and “How to be a favorite person in business.” Chang gave many workplace examples and interacted with the audience. With humor and in-depth knowledge, his speech was approved with the members, and they were able to catch the crucial element for being a successful manager.

A banquet activity followed the two remarkable speeches. The members all passionately participated in the festive occasion. The new Chairman Jim C. N. Chen presented his compliments to the members. In addition to his gratitude to everyone’s support and affirmation of him, Chen promised that he’ll come up to all members’ expectation to actively conduct the Association affairs and encourage the members to communicate with each other to create business opportunity.
