Beijing Automotive Group and Russia AMC-AVTO Establish Joint Venture Company

Beijing Automotive Group Co., Ltd. (BAIC), the 5th biggest automotive company in China and BAW Motor Corporation (BMC) operating under AMS Auto of Ulyanovsk, Russia announced the establishment of the joint venture BAW-RUS Automotive Co., Ltd. in Russia. The main business field covers vehicle manufacturing, assembly, and sales.
According to the statistics, Russia will become the largest automotive market in the Europe this year. As many as nine out of ten international manufacturers of cars and light commercial vehicles sales have set up assembly plants in Russia. Owing to the support of the Government of the Russian Federation, BAIC Group hopes to reduce production costs and develop competitiveness by the further localization of auto production.
