Bossard Taiwan Branch New Plant Inauguration

Swiss Bossard, a leading global provider of fastening & assembly technology and related solutions & services, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of its new plant in Houli, Taichung (Taiwan) on August 10th. Hundreds of industry, government, and academic guests were invited to the ceremony, including representatives of Central Taiwan Science Park Administration, TFTA, Fastener World Inc., MIRDC, as well as many renowned companies and institutes to witness Bossard's determination to continue to provide the local Taiwanese market with more than one million products, the most professional engineering assembly technology and experience, and expertise in C-parts logistics management.

All-inclusive Advanced QC Lab + Automatic Vertical Warehouse

With an investment of approximately NT$360 million, the new plant is located at No. 33, Xingkeyuan Road, Houli District, Taichung City. It took about 3 years from contracting to completion of the new 3-story building, which occupies an area of 6,600 square meters. In addition to providing a more comfortable workplace for employees, the brand new quality control laboratory and computer-control automated vertical warehousing space with a total capacity of up to 3,600 SKUs are the highlights of the new plant that attracted the attention of visitors.

The new laboratory is equipped with the most advanced instruments in the industry that can process image measurement, dimension/vibration/pullout/hardness/thickness testing, and is even equipped with a screw assembly tester, which is rarely seen in Taiwan, to provide customers with good quality control. If customers have new product development ideas, Bossard also has a professional technical team that can assist in product development and give advice, which not only allows customers to significantly reduce the cost of self-development, but also focuses on the practicality of products, performance, safety and efficiency to make the most appropriate improvements. If customers have other demand for overseas high-end brands, Bossard also represents a number of leading European and U.S. parts manufacturers to help customers enhance their added value.

Designed to meet the needs of the next 20 years, the 15-meter-high automated vertical warehouse accurately controls the inbound and outbound of goods through the barcode system, which is much more than the original 500 SKUs of the old plant. Bossard has been an expert in the logistics management of smart factories for many years. At the ceremony, it also demonstrated its self-developed automated inventory management system, SmartBin, which is mainly used for assisting customers in managing the inventory of sophisticated parts and ensuring the uninterrupted supply of products.
