TFTA: Finally We Have Our Own Home!
On June 29, Taiwan Fastener Trading Association (TFTA) held its new office inauguration and 2018 2nd directors and supervisors meeting at Floor 12-1, No. 615, Sec. 2, Tatung Rd., E. Dist., Tainan City, Taiwan. With lots of flower pots sent by TFTA’s good friends from the fastener industry around, TFTA’s new office is full of the atmosphere of gratification and congratulations. Witnessed by all the guests and with a burst of applause, the plaque unveiling ceremony was completed together by TFTA Chairman Jimmy Chang, TFTA Vice Chairman Josh Chen, TFTA Founder James Su, former TFTA Chairman Bill Chen, TIFI Chairman Tu Chin Tsai and TFA Chairman Chin Tsai Lan, which also shows the fact that TFTA finally has its own home!
The new office not only has a place for employees’ work, but also has a space for giving small cocktail parties, a meeting room that can accommodate 10-20 visitors and a conference room for giving directors and supervisors assemblies. The central aisle is hung with monitors that display past activities TFTA has given or participated. It’s not a very big office, but a well-equipped space.
TFTA Chairman Jimmy Chang said, “The continuous growth and strength of Taiwanese fastener industry must be attributed to the relentless effort of all industrial professionals. Next year TFTA will celebrate its 30th anniversary. Over the past 29 years, TFTA does not have a permanent office site at all. With the inauguration of this new office, we hope to offer all our members a permanent place to reinforce friendship, exchange industry intelligence and also hope that all of our members and friends from the industry can spare some time to visit our new office.”
After the plaque unveiling ceremony, TFTA Chairman Jimmy Chang, TFTA Vice Chairman Josh Chen and President of Sun Beam Tech Industrial Co., Ltd. Tu Chin Tsai respectively donated 300,000 NTD, 200,000 NTD and 100,000 NTD to TFTA as its activity fund and called upon all members to make their donation, too.
2018 2nd Directors & Supervisors Meeting-
Taiwanese Fastener Industry Should Have Its Own National Development Strategy
It is the first time that the directors & supervisors meeting took place at the new office, which shows a significant meaning to both TFTA and its members. During the meeting, TFTA chief secretary Tsung-Kuo Wu, International Committee Chief Ivan Lin, Education Committee Chief Kern-Hsiung Huang, Service Committee Chief Barry Yu, TFTA N. Chapter President Cindy Wang and TFTA Central Chapter Andy Wang made their reports on topics like donation to help victims in Feb. 06 Hualien Earthquake (more than 40 members donated over 2 million NTD), membership update, progress of agreements made last time, exhibitions, training sessions, golf team activities, member socials, overseas visit to Malaysia, participation in EIFI and EFDA annual meetings and etc.
During the meeting, some directors and supervisors pointed out that in many countries or regions (e.g. the EU or China) the strategic development of the fastener industry has been upgraded to a higher national level. As a result, facing more and more competition, Taiwanese fastener industry must figure out its own national development strategy as soon as possible. Such words also aroused echo in many attendees’ hearts.
Dates for TFTA events were also announced in the meeting- One is the annual members assembly set to be given on Dec. 07 this year and the other is Spring Gala & TFTA 30th Anniversary set to take place on Feb.15, 2019.
