Swi Kuo Machinery Always Seeking Changes and Standing Firm in the Market

It has been over 30 years since Mr. S. L. Chang established Swi Kuo Industrial Co., Ltd. in Kaohsiung (Taiwan) in 1978. At that time, Swi Kuo was just a small factory. With the development of the factory, Swi Kuo Machinery Co., Ltd. was established in Ningbo(China) in 2002 for handling its global sales. It was certified to ISO 9001:2000 in 2003. The company specializes in non-standard precision hardware & components incl. bolts, pipe connectors, fitting pins, sleeves, T bolts, hydraulic parts, precision axles, eccentric axles, etc., applied to the automotive, aftermarket, home appliances, electrics, hydraulic, industrial, HVAC, and fireproof parts markets. Its main customers are from USA, Europe, Canada and S. America (representing a total of 80%) and the remaining 20% customers are from Asia. 

 

Swi Kuo Machinery imported advanced processing and inspection equipment incl. multi-function CNC lathes, Japanese “START” sliding head/fixed head CNC lathes, Swiss-type lathes, etc. from industrialized countries. Swi Kuo offers various products and is dedicated to manufacturing non-standard hardware (e.g., precision lathed parts, hydraulic components, pipe connectors, etc.) with technologies like machining, polishing, cold forging, pressing, anodizing, and electroplating. Swi Kuo thinks that quality is the life of a company, so it has complete inspection devices to ensure good product quality. 2.5D image measuring instrument, roughness tester, salt spray tester, coating thickness gauge are all equipped in its factory. Swi Kuo also added a new product R&D division in 2012 to help its engineering division and customers’ projects. With a wealth of experience in processing, it can offer customers high quality through efficient manufacturing methods.

 

Creating a Win-win Situation for Customers & the Company

Swi Kuo is an OEM-oriented company and is often required to manufacture parts with special specifications. In order to respond to so many different requests, Swi Kuo, with the existing CNC machining capabilities, has developed a cold forging process, enabling it to survive the fierce price cutting competition. The most significant feedback to customers is its offering suggestions to improve processing methods and make the most of its processing experience as a manufacturer to send feedback to the design dept. Although this results in additional processes, labor cost can be obviously reduced, saving customers’ expenses and gaining profit and winning customers’ trust for itself.

 

Information Revolution and Future Direction Adjustment 

In addition to exhibiting around the world, Swi Kuo also dedicates itself to online marketing. The common use of mobile devices deeply influences traditional industries. With the fast change in data transmission in the Internet era, Swi Kuo has gradually turned its focus from the original fastener market to other fields like medical/household hardware/agricultural machines/electronic parts. Such a trend can be both seen in domestic sale and foreign sale. In 2012 Swi Kuo created its own “U.S. Brown Bear” brand and started its global sale of TV wall mounts, anticipating to bring more benefits to the company through accumulating its sales experience in the retail market. 

 

The Biggest Challenge is the Change in the Overall Environment

Most challenges Swi Kuo faces are from the change in the overall environment. For example, the proposals of the new US President-elect Mr. Donald Trump that are likely to limit the total export value of other countries and the smog in northeastern China that caused the reduction in steel production. To the hardware industry, material prices are the basic condition for competition. If one loses this advantage, he has to gain more from other aspects. Improving manufacturing procedures, shortening lead times, and offering local sourcing combined service to customers are all Swi Kuo needs to strive for. For Swi Kuo, these aspects are all basic conditions. No matter how drastically the market environment changes, Swi Kuo must have a proactive vision to forecast the future development and take precautions against the changes. Considering possible weaknesses in future challenges, Swi Kuo will reinforce its employee training, in anticipation of letting newly developed customers feel its effort and specialty and bringing Taiwanese hospitality into every business contact. Establishing long-term trust with customers has been Swi Kuo’s mission statement all the time.
