Sheng Long: Quality as per Customer’s Requirement is Our Ultimate Goal

Located in Kaohsiung City, Sheng Long Enterprise Co., Ltd. has 25 years of experience in producing punches. It is well-known for its utilizing innovative technology and technique to develop punches in particular profiles. Currently most punches in particular profiles in Taiwan are made by Sheng Long. The company provides the core technology of punches, substantially improving Taiwan’s competitiveness in fasteners. It is one of the pillars behind the healthy Taiwanese fastener industry. This time I’m glad to interview general manager Mr. Cai-Liang Huang and Mr. Hogar Huang, the father and his son, and hear them talking about their journey of inception as well as their prospect and goals for Taiwanese punch industry.

From the Unknown to the Globally Recognized
General manager Huang said Sheng Long did not reach the current scale overnight and certainly he did not pull this off on his own. “In 1990 when the company was incepted, there were only 2 colleagues who worked together to reap a good result. In 1999 the company was moved into a 991.74 square meter factory. Thanks to the rise of our revenues, we were able to purchase high level CNC equipment and furthered our development.”
With the endeavor of staff in each department, Sheng Long moved to the new 3,305 square meter plant in Luzhu District. Besides expanding the QC lab and adding various advanced inspection instruments, the general manager decided to fully computerize the operation of the factory by introducing a specialized ERP production and management system to achieve better product tracking. Following its quality standard that put clients on top priority, Sheng Long passed ISO 9000:2015 certification this year. Along with the addition of new machines and optimized polishing technology, this  took the general manager a lot of efforts. His dedication is proven by his outperforming products which have been recognized by clients domestic and abroad.

World-renowned Punches in Particular Profiles
Sheng Long was incepted as a maker of punches for making round or polygonal holes. The general manager requires that every employee absorb all related knowledge like a sponge, so they can stand out in the fierce competition of the punch industry. “To stay in this business, you must have the revolutionary spirit for innovative R&D, in order not to be  kicked out of the game.” In light of this, the company began to dedicate to tungsten processing and developing tungsten punches in particular profiles in 1999. With 5 consecutive years of considerable investment and labor efforts, the company eventually developed tungsten punches with special shapes, equivalent glossiness and longer service life compared to those of overseas counterparts, writing a new chapter for domestic customized tungsten punches in particular profiles.
Additionally, as punches in particular profiles are made with advanced technology, the company has been deliberately studying customized shapes of punches. Hogar Huang noted that the company has been continuously improving 3D drawing technique and processing sophistication, and that the technical staff keep smooth contact with clients. Therefore, the company is able to offer clients the most suitable solutions and gain long-term and stable trust from them.

The general manager said, “The competition in the punch industry with numerous punch companies has become more and more fierce. Sheng Long invests in R&D and produces each product with full devotion. It never uses materials mixed with insufficient content of alloy because this shows the ignorance of quality and the fundamental morality of the whole industry.
