The Bolt/ Nut/ Parts Forming Machine maker Jern Yao Enterprises Co., Ltd. held the 5th Jern Yao Cup at Ta Kang Shan Golf Course in Kaohsiung County to celebrate its accumulated sales volume exceeding 2,500 machines. Customers, counterparts, and associated factories were all invited to this grand event for socializing as well as challenging each other’s golf skill. More than a hundred golfers showed up to enliven the event and enjoyed club swinging.
President Ted Tsai of Jern Yao said he was pleased to see the tournament has come to the 5th time, which means the company has outstanding accomplishment on sales. What reason did the company hold such a contest? Tsai said his motive was very simple then, which is to celebrate the accumulated sales up to 500 machines. As many people in this industry like to play golf, it occurred to him to hold this event as to offer an opportunity for these people to socialize with each other and do some exercise at the same time. Surprisingly, this activity gained so much popularity, he was asked to continue to hold the game. Tsai then decided to hold a contest whenever Jern Yao reached a sales accumulation of 500 machines.
According to Tsai, this friendship contest will keep going on in the hope that it offers an occasion to meet customers and to exercise for healthy benefit. It relaxes the pressure and tension from busy daily work. He thanked everyone for passionately attending this activity and made the occasion pleasant and enrich.
The result of this year’s Jern Yao Cup is as follows: Gross Champion, Mr. Hopin Lee of Rotary Club; Net Champion, Mr. Chin-Yin Huang of Wei Chin Metal Co., Ltd.; Net 2nd Place: Mr. Edmund Goh of Unistrong Industrial Co. Ltd.; Net 3rd Place: Mr. Chien-Der Ho of Chin Jaan Screw Industrial Co., Ltd.; Net 4th Place: Mr. Johnny Kang.

The Perspective for the Fastener Machine Industry Sees Positive!
By strength of vigorous R&D teamwork and integrated service and marketing, Jern Yao gained an enviable achievement in this industry. Nowadays, Jern Yao has built over 180 machines annually, selling to 35 countries. It is number one in the world in annual production whose quality is also highly appreciated by the industry. Tsai says that they can provide the optimal machines to customers in different countries with different requirements at the right time, so that their customers are able to produce most competitive parts. This flexible strategy meets the demand of customers without failure, accounting for Jern Yao’s rapid growth.
Twelve hours before he accepted our interview, Tsai just returned from Japan for negotiating a big order. From his remarks, he is quite optimistic about the future of the fastener machine industry. Jern Yao has been booked up till the year of 2012. So the coming years are fairly active. However, Tsai reminds us that we should be cautious about the competition from China. Although China is lagging behind Taiwan in this field, it deserves our close watch. We should focus more on R&D to provide better machines for customers to have more choices. The products and sales can be thus made at various levels and make more room for our growth.
