Congrats! New Intelligent Factory Inauguration

A Close Look at EASYLINK Taiwan HQ

by Tanya Shih, Fastener World

“Robotic arms! Are you kidding me?” When many people walk into the new intelligent factory of Easylink Industrial Co., Ltd. based in Benjhou Industrial Park, Kaohsiung, they are surprised. Yes, Easylink has introduced the 1st robotic arm in its new factory for enhancing sorting quality and it may be the 1st Taiwanese fastener company to take this move as well.

President Lerry Tsao who grew up in a military kindred village started his own fastener business in 1992 and his Easylink has further developed into a business having large factories in Taiwan and Vietnam, as well as an office in China by 2016. Its monthly capacity of more than 1,000 tons enables it to supply to leading countries like USA, Germany, France, and China. When its new 9,917 sq. meters Taiwan HQ was inaugurated after the lunar new year, its manufacturing, packaging, sorting, and quality control divisions initially located in different areas in Gangshan would be integrated into one factory & office building complex, which is expected to bring forth immediate benefits to Easylink and its customers.

Introducing More New Tech to Traditional Industries Should Be Done by Ourselves

The automated production lines are integrated with AS-RS automated wholesale system, making Easylink’s new factory operate automatically almost without labors assigned on site. The robotic arm “Ma-Li” for everyone's curiosity will be assigned to do sorting task. Yes, this robotic arm has got a name out of President Tsao’s humor. I would say Easylink spent a great deal of capital for establishing this new factory (though President Tsao tried to stop me writing down such a comment, as he thought what he did was necessary investments). He doesn’t think that traditional industries are low-end industries and he believes that the Law of Attraction will definitely attract more talented workforce to work for Easylink. He also believes that the expectable growth through the upgrade of software/hardware will be the simplest way to a company’s growth.

Corporate Value Should Not be Just from Customers’ Satisfaction

Easylink’s fasteners are famous in the automotive and building industries and the company stringently fulfils the QC system and manufacturing process control. Its QC laboratory has been not only certified by TAF, but also has been certified by TS 16949, CE and various product quality certifications. Moreover, it even diversified the product range (stamped parts and assembly parts, for example) to increase its service portfolio and create more added value of its products and competitive edge. Instead of only talking about customers’ satisfaction, Easylink would rather focus more on how to create the value of a company, which means what kind of value it can bring to customers. For many years, Easylink has been active in the market with its independent IT, machine manufacturing, and dies divisions. It has the ability of independent manufacturing, integration, and renovation that is faster and more flexible than other competing companies, thus creating value for customers.

Looking ahead, Easylink with its success in Vietnam will continue to expand business overseas based on risk diversification, costs, and financial stability. President Tsao stresses the management with more concern about people and expects Easylink aiming at becoming a happy enterprise can work together with over 200 employees for creating a sustainable business.
