Recently the U.S. has amended the anti-dumping and countervailing tax law and authorized the Ministry of Commerce with more discretionary right. Any involved company which does not cooperate for investigation nor respond will be subject to unfavorable discretion. According to Bureau of Foreign Trade of Taiwan, the U.S. has opened 23 AD and countervailing investigations against Taiwan. The investigations cover steel, plasticization, fastener, textile manufacturing, and solar energy companies, all of which will be subject to the amendment. All related associations and companies in Taiwan have been notified of the amendment.
