Titanium Alloy Nuts by CSCPM have been accepted into Apple’s supply chain, which is also confirmed by CSCPM saying it has received the order from Apple for its new iPhone 6. The company said that the annual titanium alloy capacity has been fully utilized and reaches 2,000 tons. It is planning to double the capacity by the year end. Its titanium alloy nuts were first used on iPhone 5 (it is known that every iPhone 5 would need 34 screws and nuts).

The number of screws and nuts used will increase to 36 due to a larger size of iPhone 6. The company further added, the price of titanium alloy per ton is around NTD3.5 million, over 150 times the price of general carbon steel, making it become one of the steel materials with super-high unit prices.

CSCPM co-invested by CSC and Walsin Lihwa is able to produce 2,000 tons of titanium alloy annually and has had its capacity fully utilized. In order to correspond to the future demand, it will complete the expansion of capacity by the year end and the annual capacity will reach 4,000 tons.
