Turkey's largest fastener producer, Norm Group, has commenced production at its sixth factory, located in Salihli in Manisa province, boosting its total capacity by more than 30 percent. The new plant, which is around 120km east of Izmir where Norm's other five plants are located, has 12,000 square metres covered production space. Employing 160 people it will have a bolt production capacity, on all-new machines, of 20,000 tonnes annually.

In 2013, the company's fortieth year in business, the Norm Group produced 58,000 tonnes, exporting around 40% of its output. The new plant will boost annual capacity to 80,000 tonnes. Following the commissioning of the new plant, Norm Civata in Izmir will concentrate more on special products, secondary operations and research & development. Norm is a licencee for MAThread®, MATpoint®, M Point® products.

Another group company, Uysal Makina, specialises in the application of advanced coating technologies including zinc and zinc-nickel electroplating. It holds MacDermid Zinklad 250, Zinklad 1000/1000B licenses and Zinc lamelle coatings as well as Dörken MKS and Magni licenses. In addition to the range of top coat systems it can apply to increase corrosion resistance and modify surface properties to ensure uniform torque and clamping characteristics. Norm highlights that its Zinc lamelle coating provides highly effective anti-corrosion protection with a relatively thin coating thickness and without any hydrogen embrittlement risk.
