"FSUE Sport-In", a sports game construction institute supervised by Ministry of Sports (Russia), has qualified "Unifence" (part of Severstal-metiz) as one of its suppliers. This offers Unifence a pass to attend public tender projects hosted by Ministry of Sports, and contest for contracts of construction or renovation for the sports games. Subsequently, Unifence products will be applied in places where the games require metal wire mesh, such as protective fences.
This is not the first time that Unifence took on Russian sports constructions, and this is proven by the Sochi 2014 Olympics. Unifence products have been applied in the following venues: "Fisht Olympisky Stadium" for the opening and closing ceremony, "Rosa Khutor Extreme Park" for the freestyle skiing and snowboarding event, "Bolshoy Ice Dome" for the ice hockey game, "Iceberg Skating Palace" for the figure skating game, "Adler Arena Skating Center" for the speed skating game, and "Ice Cube Curling Center", Olympic Village, and hotels accommodating volunteers and tourists.
Another Unifence product widely applied in the Olympic venues is the metal gabions. In Sochi Olympics landscape engineering and protective fence construction, Unifence supplies an estimated 3,000 tons of metal gabions.
"Sochi Winter Olympics is a critical international game. Unifense is honored to take part in the related construction, and this is connected with the public image of both the company and the nation. We are proud to say that the efforts of Unifense is seen in every venue of the Sochi Olympics," says Alexander Shevelev, assistant manager of Severstal-metiz.
