PJSC Dneprometiz (Severstal Metiz's plant in Ukraine) announced that it has realized its investment plans. Its new heat-control electric furnaces (with 4 different temperature control zones) have started operation and mass production. The furnaces will increase 35% in the capacity of heat treating steel wires.
As is known, early in 2007 and 2011 the company once tried to set up the new electric furnace. With such experience accumulated previously, engineers renovated the structure of furnaces to improve its working reliability and capacity.
The new furnace is equipped with the latest automated facility to ensure steady temperature control during heat treatment of steel wires. This is favorable to not only achieve higher product quality but also generate less energy consumption. The new furnace is estimated to help PJSC Dneprometiz save more heat treatment energy than other domestic steel plants do by 1 to 1.5 folds.
President Oleg Kovtonyuk states that this new facility will enable the company to attain orders from critical markets with better products, and meanwhile save more energy as well as reduce pollution via micro-processing technology in manufacturing. All of this will improve the corporate culture and create the corporate image.
