TFTA Central Dist. Chapter

Johnson Chang as the New President

by Tanya Shih, Fastener World Inc.

It has been 25 years since TFTA (Taiwan Fastener Trading Association) was established in 1989. As the number of members continues to grow, TFTA sets up branches in northern and central Taiwan to provide better service and unite industrial strengths.

On December 18 of 2013, Central Dist. Chapter held the 3rd President Handover Ceremony at Windsor Hotel in Taichung. During former president Jimmy Chang’s term, business affairs have been active and member friendship has grown more intimate. The ceremony was filled with members and dignitaries. Under the witness of chairman Bill Chen, directors, and members of the central district chapter, general manager Johnson Chang of YOUR CHOICE FASTENERS & TOOLS took over the position as the new president.

Johnson Chang was grateful for the opportunity to serve, saying he will do the best to assist all members in elevating global competence of Taiwan fastener industry through cooperation. He plans to arrange industrial lessons and factory tours for March and September of 2014, respectively. Furthermore, he wants to increase members’ knowledge in various fields like technology, health care, and management, coupled with metal heat treatment and surface treatment lessons arranged by the association to upgrade industry competence. Speaking on the cooperating experience with the European market, Johnson Chang told that trading conditions with Europe is becoming strict with indemnity clause and the trend towards “small lot & high variety” and “customizable package”. This is challenging the adaptability of companies, and if they can satisfy European demand properly, they will be able to cope with global demands.
