The first edition of International Fastener Show Tainan, Taiwan (IFST) held at Commercial Exhibition Center Tainan has come to a perfect closure. It was organized by Taiwan Fastener Trading Association (TFTA) and Economic Development Bureau of Tainan City Government. The onsite buoyant atmosphere also supported the policy advocated by Tainan City Mayor William Lai of “Computer Show in Northern Taiwan, Fastener Show in Southern Taiwan.”

The show during April 11-13, 2013 was greatly supported and admired. At the opening, special guests were invited to join in the ribbon cutting ceremony together, including President Jim C.N. Chen of TFTA, Office Chief Kuo-Hsin Lai of Bureau of Foreign Trade (Kaohsiung Office), Director General Jong-Chin Shen of Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Deputy Mayor Tzun-Zo Yen of Tainan City Government, Director Jeremy Horng of TAITRA Tainan Office, Co-founder James Su of Taiwan Fastener Trading Association, Chairman Ming-Yuan Chiang of Taiwan Fastener Association, Former Secretary Bernd Stapf of European Fastener Distributor Association, newly elected President Kevin Reidl of National Fastener Distributor Association, Chairman Mustafa Tecdelioglu of Turkish Fastener Distributor Association (BESIAD), Chairman Lin Zhi Ming of Hong Kong Screw & Fastener Council, Chairman Jinyao Feng of China Fastener Industry Association, Chairman Gian Marco Dalpane of Italian Fastener Distributor Association, Legislator Yi-Ching Yeh, and Tainan City Councilor Wen Zhen Lee
According to the statistics of the organizer, the 3-day show attracted over 20,000 visitors from 39 countries (with over 8,000 buyers), which boosted the participation of many Taiwanese fastener and machine manufacturers. In addition, 19 seminars held during the show increased the value and quality of the show, making it the largest ever international fastener show in Taiwan as well as the comprehensive platform incorporated with the industry, the government, and the academia.
