Global Car Sales in Q1 2013

Asia
Sales of top 5 Korean car manufacturers increased 0.1% in March. The global sales of Hyudai, Kia, GM Korea, Renault Samsung and SsangYong in March 2013 reached 725,661 vehicles, up 0.1% from March 2012.
 
The car production of Thailand in Q1 increased by 45% over the same period and the export increased by 29%. As for passenger cars, the total sales reached 412,680 vehicles, up 47.7% over the same period. In Indonesia, the car sales in Q1 rose 18% over the same period from 250,230 to 295,912 vehicles. In Turkey, the light-weight vehicles sales in Q1 rose 12%. The sales of passenger cars rose 17.3% to 114.434 and the sales of light commercial cars reached 38,170 vehicles, dropped by 0.1%. 
 
Americas
In Canada, the sales of light-weight cars dropped 1.9% to 355,212 vehicles in Q1 over the same period. The record last year reached 361,958 vehicles. In Argentina, the car production in March increased 50%, up 7.4% in Q1. Its total sales in Q1 were 202,951 vehicles, up 4.2%. The sales over the same period last year reached 194,855 vehicles. In March, the car production in Argentina reached 79,031 vehicles, up 49.4% from 52,911 vehicles last year. The total car production of Argentina in Q1 reached 176,003 vehicles, up 7.4% from 163,837 vehicles last year.
 
In Mexico, the car production in Q1 increased 2% from 713,626 vehicles to 
727,571 vehicles while the sales increased by 5.8% from 233,574 vehicles to 
247,229 vehicles. 
 
Other market
The car sales of South Africa in Q1 increased 4.1% from 156,673 vehicles to 163,239 vehicles.
 
In Australia, the car sales in Q1 increased by 5% to 273,048 vehicles.
