Chinese steel exports to Latin America surge by 15pct in 2012

 Between January and October 2012, year over year trade flow between China and Latin America of steel containing products grows 15%

Indirect trade between China and Latin America was 15% higher between January and October 2012 compared to the same period of 2011. In these ten months, Latin America represented 7% of all Chinese exports of steel containing and reached 38,018 million dollars, compared to 33,073 million dollars last year.

In Latin America, most imported products during that period were cars and commercial vehicles (5,754 million dollars), and machines and equipment (4,533 million dollars).
During this month, countries that showed the highest inflows of steel containing products were Brazil (825 million dollars) and Mexico (763 million dollars). Together, these countries represented 45% of regional imports from China.
