Weak Revenue, Falling Nickel Price, Rodex May See Losses in Q1

2012-05-07
The screw shipment of Rodex Fasteners Corp. in Q1 amounted to 1,700 metric tons, increasing from 1,500 metric tons in Q4 2011. The Q1 revenue reached NTD641 million, up 41.5% over Q4 2011. Benefited from the demand for inventory replenishment from the Thai and Indonesian subsidiary factories due to Rodex’s main wire rod and wire shipment to the two factories, Rodex’s Q1 wire rod and wire shipment recovered and the Q1 revenue turned better than Q4 2011.
Rodex stated owing to the weak screw shipment, the drop of the nickel price and the appreciation of NTD, the company’s Q1 main business perhaps would see a turn from profits into losses compared to Q4 2011.
