Recently, Severstal-Metiz received orders from Russian Railways to supply metal products for paving roads for new railways, which gains the open praise by Mr. Vladimir Volobiev, VP of Russian Railways, regarding the high quality of the products.

Severstal-Metiz is responsible for supplying special products to Russian railways for connecting CM-1 concrete railroad ties. New products will replace the existing used ones like CB-65, ARS-4-65, ZHBR ZHBR-65, and ZHBR ZHBR-65 III. It is made of five parts; besides its advantage of increasing higher load and saving later maintenance cots, the most important feature is that the new parts will enhance the driving safety of the train.

CM-1 concrete railroad tie has passed many experiments and proves that it can pass the weight load of over 3 million tons. Severstal-Metiz has invested more than 80 million Roubles (about US$2.71 million) in the R&D of the products in the past three years.

Mr. Oleg Vetel, CEO of Severstal-Metiz points out that Russian Railways has always been the loyal customer of Severstal-Metiz over the long years. The supply of various metal products by the company has exceeded 100 thousand tons. To become the continuing supply partner with Russian Railways, Severstal-Metiz has placed great emphasis on the development of this new product, in order to receive greater future orders from Russian Railways.

Vladimir praises Severstal-Metiz as a supplier of great efficiency and product benefits, and is always customer oriented. Superior quality products have been developed successfully through mutual cooperation in the long time. Both parties express anticipation of closer cooperation in the future for promoting technical upgrade and innovation of Russian railway equipment.
