2011-12-30

In September 2011, Belarus state-owned metallurgical plant (BSW) hosted guests from Japan Bridgestone group for the first time. This group is the no. 1 in Japan and the second-largest tire maker in the world. Bridgestone's production covers all over the world and meanwhile the company holds a majority stock of Nokian, a Finnish tire manufacturer.

The Bridgestone delegation composed by R & D staffs from Japan headquarters and Italian branch of Europe, including the Director of joint procurement, R & D Manager of Strengthening Materials Department, and representatives of the BSW’s sales channels, Pisec Group company. After the delegation visited the BSW production line, the two companies discussed questions in the trade and technical aspects. The Japanese delegation is especially interested in the BSW’s bead copper-plated wire manufacturing process and relevant quality controls. The two companies reached a mutually beneficial agreement in this visit, and BSW has sent 1.26mm copper-plated steelwire bead samples to test in Bridgestone's factory in Poland.  BSW’s steel wire for tires production has also sent to be certified, and Bridgestone factories in Italy and Romania are quite looking forward to this product.

It is noteworthy that Japanese companies have regarded quality as the highest standard. Bridgestone’s corporate philosophy is to promote "the highest quality to contribute to society." Therefore, if BSW can be recognized as one of the qualified suppliers of Bridgestone, it would be an important indicator of technical and management progress for Belarusian state-owned enterprises.
