The China Anhui Science and Technology Award committee has announced the prize result. The project “R&D of Cold Hardening Microalloyed Steel for Class 8.8~10.9 Fasteners” cooperation among Maanshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd, Anhui University of Technology, and China Central Iron & Steel Research Institute has won the second prize of Anhui Science and Technology Award. 

The project has successfully developed the cold hardening microalloyed steel wire rod for class 8.8~10.9 fasteners and the product’s complete industrial production technology, establishing the first single line and multi-channel flexible-connected high-speed wire rod production line, and initiating fine pearlite (class 8.8 & 9.8) and granular bainite (class 10.9) cold hardening microalloyed steel series products and applications. Through crucial production technology tests and safety and environmental evaluations, the project establishes a sound basis for the cold hardening microalloyed steel technology in the fastener industry.
