After July 1st when the FTA between South Korea and EU comes into effect, 75% of Korean products within the 3 categories of electrics, machines, automobiles / motorcycles will enjoy the tariff free benefit. If included with the products already benefited from the zero tariff measure, up to 94% of products exported from South Korea to EU will enjoy the tariff free measure. This poses a threat to Taiwanese products and Taiwanese manufacturers will have to pay additional 16-55% tariff cost. According to fastener manufacturers, the execution of this measure will not cause much influence on Taiwanese products exported to EU.
