Fastening Fiber Cement Siding
Add to my favorite
2011-02-23
As a final siding material this construction member is a single-faced composite board made from autoclaving cellulose fiber-reinforced cement with silica sand. Producers can mimic a wood grain or provide a smooth surface. This product is impervious to temperature extremes, fungus, and insects, doesn’t warp and readily accepts paint – all positives for performance and ascending home values. Predictable consistency and installation is controlled by multiple standards, such as ANSI, ASTM, UBC, local Codes, and manufacturer’s instructions, etc., yet there are still complaints regarding this robust, attractive product, which is typically installed by professionals.
