2014-09-03

The Fastener Training Institute® (FTI) and the Industrial Fasteners Institute (IFI) recently co-produced their first interactive fastener training webinar. “Thread Fit Matters,” presented by Joe Greenslade IFI Director of Engineering Technology, was an amazing success. “Joe’s webinar was very well attended and received” stated Andy Cohn of Duncan Bolt and Board member of the Fastener Training Institute. Andy continued, “We picked Joe Greenslade to kick off this new training format because of his industry reputation and knowledge and we were not disappointed.” FTI today announced the continuation of this new format with Carmen Vertullo of CarVer Consulting presenting “Fastener Coatings and Platings.” Carmen is a primary trainer at FTI and is very well known in the fastener industry for his teaching, magazine articles and consulting services.

This new interactive webinar will continue with the 60 minute presentation format followed by a 30 minute Q & A session as was used in the “Thread Fit Matters” program.

“Fastener Coatings and Platings” will be presented on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 8 AM PDT. This topic was selected because it is both important and covers requirements we deal with every day.

Full details will be available on the FTI website www.FastenerTraining.org or contact Jo Morris at JoM@FastenerTraining.com FTI is also announcing their Fastener Training Webinar series will continue and be offered monthly.

The webinar topics for the balance of 2014 will be released soon. John Wachman of Desert Distribution Sales LLC and President of FTI advises, “We want to make fastener product training more easily available and affordable. The interactive webinar format is a perfect medium for us.” The Fastener Training Institute is a non-profit organization that provides beginning and advanced training on fastener products, standards and
specifications.  Its core purpose is to enhance fastener use, reliability and safety. Its mission is to make you more knowledgeable about the fastening products you buy, sell, specify or use.
