Colorado's Timberline Fasteners has been acquired by Germany-based Würth Group. Timberline calls itself the largest full-line fastener distributor in the Rocky Mountains, serving the construction, transportation and energy industries and the consumer market. It has offices in Nebraska, Wisconsin and Puerto Rico.

Timberline was founded in 1923 in Denver as A&I Bolt and Nut. Timberline will now operate as Würth Timberline as part of the Industry Division of Würth Industry of North America, the German company said. Terms were not disclosed. Some 80 Timberline employees are joining Würth. Würth, which distributes assembly components in the U.S., said the acquisition expands its presence in the western United States. It says it plans to double its presence in the U.S. by the year 2020.
