The Brazilian consumers who have been submitting their cars to repairs on systems steering, since last September, should be careful with this recall because of its component, unlike traditional called automakers, affects a replacement part. According to the SKF Brazil, auto parts manufacturer, the component called axial joint, which is part of the system that transmits the steering movements of the wheel, can break entirely with the vehicle in full motion, causing loss of drivability and, of certain, accident.
The defective batch was developed for the aftermarket of 34 different models, including models yet to be produced in Brazil, as Volkswagen Passat and Ford Explorer. Cars that have already been discontinued for decades, including Fiat 147, Oggi and Panorama.
The other models are Audi (A3), Fiat Brava, Elba, Fiorino, Idea, Pick-up, Prêmio, Siena, Strada, Uno and Tempra, Ford Courier, EcoSport, Escort, Fiesta, Ka and Ranger, Chevrolet Agile, Celta, Corsa, Classic, Meriva, Montana, Prisma and Tigra, Volkswagen Golf and New Beetle.
