The membership meeting of Wenzhou Fastener Association ended September 16th with the appointment of the new association Chairman Jingyao Wu from Zhejiang Mingtai Standard Component. At the same time, Jay Wu was promoted to be the Secretary of the Association.

Wenzhou City is always acclaimed as the “Fastener City of China” and is also one of the most important fastener manufacturing bases. 231 Wenzhou-based industries can reach the annual capacity of over RMB20 million. During the difficult time from 2012 through 2013, almost no Wenzhou-based fastener company failed in the fierce competition. On the contrary, their influence is increasing and the quality is also being upgraded.

The fastener industry is a great support to the development of Wenzhou. Its “Longwan” district is famous for the production of fasteners; “Le Chin” is famous for electronic peripherals; “Ruei An” is famous for automotive/motorbike peripherals; and “Ou Hai” is famous for silk drawing. Every district has its own featuring industry. In the most recent 5 years, the fastener industry in Wenzhou was growing really fast (with the annual growth being 9.8%) and its total production value last year reached RMB14.8 billion.
