According to Taiwan Trade Center do Brasil Ltda, there are totally 300 manufacturers and importers & exporters of screws, nuts and bolts in Brazil, mainly gathered in Sao Paulo and Santa Catarina, among which Belenus, Jomarca, Industrial Rex and Ciser are the manufacturers and importers & exporters with larger scales.
There are more screws and bolts manufacturers in Brazil than nuts manufacturers. The manufactured screws, bolts, and nuts mainly supply to automotive, furniture, building and machinery industries and seldom to the computer science industry. The reason is that when the assembly plants of computer science products import components and parts from abroad, the products are already assembled with fasteners.
The government of Brazil responded to its manufacturers’ demand, issuing the decree that import permits are needed before importing simple function and non heat treated screws, nuts and bolts and the declared import price cannot be lower than USD1,650 per tonne. But fasteners for special uses are not included in this measure.

Conclusion:
1. Taiwan fasteners export value to Brazil accounted for about 5% of the total import in Brazil.
2. Taiwan fasteners export value to Brazil accounted for about 1.5% the total export in Taiwan.
3. The fasteners of the US, Japan, Germany, Italy and France mainly supply to their invested automakers.
4. China is the main supplier of ordinary fasteners.
