Two days of industry meetings, presentations of the latest technologies and products, an expert conference on topics important for the fastener industry, Meeting Zone and novelty – Surface Protection Exhibition. This is a preview of this year's edition of the International Trade Fair for Fastener and Fixing Technologies FASTENER POLAND®. The trade fair will take place on October 15^th-16^that EXPO Kraków.

The previous edition of the trade fair was attended by 153 exhibitors from 18 countries, 75% of which were foreign companies. The statistics of visitors were equally international. Of the 2,856 guests, 46% came to Krakow from abroad. Europe was most represented by industrialists from Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine and Romania. The above data only emphasize the importance of the event and the fact that the FASTENER POLAND® trade fair is the most important place for business meetings in the industry in Central and Eastern Europe.

Poland, a strategic player on the European market

The demand for specialised fasteners, in terms of quality and standards, is constantly growing. This is probably influenced by the most technologically advanced industrial sectors. Polish suppliers have specialised in supplying high-quality fasteners. Thanks to investments in modern technologies that are friendly to the environment and the continuous improvement in the qualifications of production staff, Poland is the third largest supplier of fasteners in the European Union, after Germany and Italy. The location of our country and well-developed transport infrastructure guarantee uninterrupted supply chains to the furthest corners of the continent. Although labour costs are also rising in our country, Poland still offers competitive prices compared to other European countries. All these factors make Poland an ideal place for investment in the fasteners industry. Exhibitors from all over the world know this, and every year at the only event dedicated to fasteners in our country they want to establish business contacts, find an agent or investigate the potential to open a branch. Simon Ward from TFC Ltd notes: "From our 3 European locations we have been working with companies across Poland for many years; now, as part of AFC Industries we are looking to expand our customer base and develop new opportunities. This was the first time TFC have exhibited at FASTENER POLAND® and it proved the ideal platform to showcase products and the TFC brand to new customers". Beata Snopkiewicz, the trade fair’s project manager, who has been observing the industry for a decade, looks into the future: "From my experience, I know that very often the move preceding the opening of a branch in our country is the presence of a company at FASTENER POLAND®. This has already happened with several foreign suppliers. I have been observing TFC Ltd for years and I was very pleased with this year's cooperation and their presence at FASTENER POLAND®. The company is developing dynamically, it already has branches in Germany and the Czech Republic. It will not surprise me if it opens a branch in Poland soon". The fact that Poland is a key sales market is also confirmed by Timo Scholle from the German company Achilles Seibert GmbH. "Customers from Eastern Europe are becoming increasingly important to us, especially from Poland, our developing market. We decided to exhibit here, in Krakow, because specific customers come to the trade fair. This was our first time at FASTENER POLAND® – the trade fair was very well organised and we won’t regret it."

All about surface protection

A novelty of this year's edition of the FASTENER POLAND® Trade Fair will be an exhibition devoted to the preparation and protection of the surface of fasteners. This work is carried out at every stage, both by manufacturers and distributors of fasteners. Therefore, we invite manufacturers and suppliers of cleaning, degreasing, coating, varnishing and protection of metal surfaces to EXPO Kraków. Manufacturers of machines and devices, suppliers of chemicals, paints, varnishes and galvanic technologies will present their offer.

Proven formula of B2B Meetings

The previous edition showed that B2B meetings are a very important aspect of the trade fair. Meeting Zone dedicated to companies that are beginning their adventure with participation in fairs and those that have not planned this form of promotion in this year's budget. International Fastener Expo Returns to Las Vegas for Their 2023 Show The International Fastener Expo (IFE), the largest North American B2B Expo focused on the Fastener industry, will be hosting their annual event October 9-11, 2023, at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Attendees and exhibitors from around the world will come together under one roof to build new relationships and connect with peers, discover the latest products and solutions, and learn from experts about trends and newest technologies being used in the industry. IFE 2023 is expected to bring 650+ exhibitors to the Expo Floor representing a strong global fastener footprint; the 2022 show had exhibitors from 37 different countries. Mack-Brooks Exhibitions announced the postponement of Fastener Fair Global 2021, which was scheduled to take place at the Messe Stuttgart Exhibition Centre in Germany from 9 to 11 November 2021. Instead the 9th International Exhibition for the Fastener and Fixing industry, will return to its normal event cycle and run from 21–23 March 2023. This decision was made due to the ongoing pandemic and following conversations with exhibitors and partners over the past weeks and months. According to the report of the World Bank Vietnam, Vietnam's recovery is gaining momentum. However, there are still heightened risks of weaker global demand and supply disruptions to economic prospects. Uncertainty related to the war in Ukraine and its impacts on major commodity supply and prices is expected to weaken global growth prospects, potentially affecting demand for Vietnamese exports. Supply disruptions caused by lockdowns in China could hurt Vietnam’s exports in coming months. If higher inflation persists in the medium term, the economy should be allowed to adjust to higher prices with the authorities incentivizing investments to increase productivity and aggregate supply.

Breaching Virus Blockade with Massive Online Attendance International Fastener Expo (IFE) 2020 The largest American fastener show held a successful online show on November 11th and 12th. Fastener World participated with a virtual booth there and broke out the blockade of the third coronavirus wave. In addition to Fastener World, there were also 7 other Taiwanese exhibitors at this virtual event, which included Huang Jing Industrial, Spec Products, Chite Enterprises, J.C. Grand, Pro-Path Industrial, and New Best Wire. Fastener World had successful video chats with Brighton Best International, Nord-Lock, Inc., Industrial Rivet & Manufacturing, Earnest Machine, FCH Sourcing Network, EXIPAR, S.A. DE C.V., EGW Utilities, Inc., among others, and successfully connected with more than 103 exhibitors online. During the live-streaming conferences, Fastener World was able to discuss conference topics with participants in a chat room, and the result was satisfactory. The two-day show helped connect 2,700 online users and exchanged more than 6,700 messages. The exhibitors came from Canada, India, China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, the U.S., and the visitors were from Mexico, Malaysia, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, etc. One Mexican visitor comes to Las Vegas almost every year and has purchased from Taiwan and China before. However, this year the visitor couldn't come to the event and therefore took the opportunity online. The virus blocks face-to-face talk among business people, but in turn opens up a new parallel business model including online and face-to-face communication. The next edition will take place September 21-23, 2021 and we hope it will bring back face-to-face business talk.

The ‘Gateway to India’, Mumbai, hosts the seventh edition of Fastener Fair India. The exhibition takes place from 25-26 April 2019 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, in Mumbai. In 2018, Fastener Fair India was held in the country’s capital city, New Delhi and ended with positive results. Over 140 exhibiting companies were present at the two-day event, highlighting market innovations to a highly qualified audience of 3,316 (compared to the last edition of Fastener Fair India held in New Delhi, visitor numbers increased by over 30%).
