Indonesia is still an Excellent Automotive Market in ASEAN
Indonesian economic grows to a positive trend, with an average above 5% per year. It is not detached from the role of the manufacturing sector that contributes the greatest to national GDP. Based on Statistical Central Agency (BPS) data, the processing industry is still contributing to the national gross domestic product (GDP) structure up to 20.07 percent in the first quarter at the year of 2019. The amount increased compared to 2018 with achievement of 19.86 percent.
Indonesia is projected to be a manufacturing center in ASEAN with several industrial sectors that have deep structures, which ranging from upstream to downstream, such as automotive, textile and garment, food and beverage, metals, and chemicals.
In the automotive sector, Indonesia has a great potential as car production last year reached 1,340,000 units with a value of USD13 billion. "Currently, there are four major automotive companies that make Indonesia an important player in the global supply chain.
The automotive and construction industries will be the driving force for the global industrial fastener market in 2020. The global industrial fasteners market will grow steadily during the next four years and post a CAGR of about 4% by 2020. Demand for industrial fasteners is forecast to rise 3.6 percent per year to $83.2 billion in 2020. Growth in output of durable goods such as motor vehicles, machinery, and electrical and electronic equipment will fuel gains, particularly in industrializing countries.
