Severstal-Metiz Introduced New Quality Control Equipment 2012-07-20 Class:Russian News Severstal-Metiz has introduced a quality-control technology for calibration. The digital technology is purchased from manufacturers in Japan and Germany. The ensemble includes an electronic micrometer, caliper, indicator heads, universal probe and special software. In addition, a device for assessing alignments is installed. This device will be used to control the products manufactured on the new cold forging machines for customers from the automobile industry. Prior to the automation of quality control, all product records were completed manually. Now, these data has been entered into the ensemble. The software included in the device will be used to determine product compliance. It also contains additional control options that measure the outer diameter to within 1 micron. "This is an initiative for the purchase of new monitoring devices to ensure efficient production. It is an important step in preparing for the implementation of ISO / TS 16949 - International Standard for companies supplying automotive components. Auto industries have very strict requirements. Therefore, to meet these requirements, we are continually working on and investing heavily in quality"- said Oleg Vetel, CEO of Severstal-Metiz. Shortly after the automation of quality control processess, Serverstal-Metiz plans to purchse and install automatic sorting system to increase production efficiency.
