Taiwan Industrial Fasteners Institute (TIFI) held a members assembly attended by more than 200 people at Kaohsiung Marriott Hotel on December 10, 2021. Chairman Mr. Tu-Chin Tsai said that the period from February to September was the high time for Taiwanese fastener industry. Starting from September the domestic market was complicated by harbor congestion and higher freight rates and packaging material prices. Taiwan CSC is going to announce the new steel prices later in December, and Tu-Chin Tsai hopes that CSC will make thorough considerations before the announcement.

Jinn Her Enterprise president and TIFI vice chairman Yong-Yu Tsai advised that a proper barricade preventing foreign labors from controversially switching employers should be in place. The proposal gained consensus in the assembly and will be forwarded to the Ministry of Labor for review.

Taiwan CSC president said in the assembly that Taiwan stands out in the world with high fastener export numbers and he was confident the uptrend will continue in 2022. Tu-Chin Tsai said that Tainan City and Kaohsiung City are the heartlands of Taiwanese fastener industry (taking up more than 80% of its total capacity) and that every company is working closely to sustain the competitiveness of Taiwanese fastener industry in the int'l market.
