Registered in England and continuing to grow bigger and stronger, Earlsdon Technology is a reputable world leader in special purpose machines for aerospace fastener manufacturers. In the last 2 years alone, it has increased sales by 25% to US$ 5 million per year. “Robotic Automation” Now a New Feature in Earlsdon Technology Capabilities
Earlsdon Technology builds machines that are fast, reliable and built for 24/7 operation, including fillet rolling machines, drilling and broaching machines, reaming and tapping machines, and head turning and drilling machines. On the latest milestone, “We have sold 25% more and added ‘Robotic Automation’ to our capabilities and completed several projects using robots to load our machines. The robots are useful for handling large fasteners and for automation of small-batch production,” said Director Simon West in a special interview with Fastener World Magazine.
Rolling out New Machines
“We continue to increase the level of technology of our Fillet Rolling machines and Drilling and Broaching machines,” said Simon, “especially to increase our use of digital servo controls and make our machines compatible with ‘Industry 4.0’ demanded by many customers.” The new machines on top of the current available product line are:
(1) FR-V4 Fillet Rolling machine: Completely new loading system for rapid changeover.
(2) ADB-S1 Drilling, Pointing and Broaching machine: 1 second cycle time; Full digital servo control.
(3) RT-SX1 Reaming and Tapping machine: Full digital servo control.
Quality, Customizability, Experience
Simon continued, “We are world leaders in our field and we make the best machines. We maintain that position by involving our very experienced staff in all aspects of design, build and quality control, and by very thorough machine tests. All our machines are CE-marked and built to the highest European and US standards.”
Nearly every machine that leaves his factory has been customized to suit a customer requirement. The company also designs and builds completely new machines for long-standing key customers. Many of them have 20+ E-Tech machines and have worked with the company for more than 20 years.
“We make the best machines, with the best design and build quality. We certainly aren’t the cheapest, but we offer very good value for money. We have a team with experience of more than 1,000 projects for global customers.”
Meet Earlsdon Technology in Las Vegas
“We usually have machines at the International Fastener Expo in Las Vegas. Frankly, we are too busy to attend many shows. Our customers are pushing us to increase capacity and build more machines for them. That is our focus.” The company has recently recruited a number of new engineers and other staff members and are focused on new product development and very responsive customer service.
Specifically to Taiwanese readers, Simon said he has visited Taiwan several times and was very impressed by the beautiful country and the highly-skilled people. “So far we have one Taiwanese customer, but of course we would like many more!” Simon is also anticipated to meet new customers worldwide as the future of Earlsdon Technology unfolds.
