Semblex Corporation, Elmhurst, IL, USA, a leading manufacturer of fasteners and cold-headed components for the automotive, commercial, and distribution markets, has been acquired by Jinhap Co., Ltd. of South Korea. Founded in 1968, Semblex has most recently been privately owned by the Daniel P. Haerther Charitable Trust following the passing of Mr. Haerther in 2007. The transaction closed on February 3, 2014. Jinhap is a world-class supplier of fasteners, cold formed and machined special products and brake hose fittings to the global automotive industry. Jinhap is a 100% family owned company with annual revenues of US$425 million and employment exceeding 1200 people. The company has four manufacturing plants in South Korea and two plants in China (expanding to four in 2014). The transition of ownership to Jinhap involves no changes planned to the Semblex organization or to the company's existing strong relationships with its bank, suppliers, product licensors or other strategic alliance partners including Agrati Group, a major European fastener company.
