2013-11-19

The U.S. International Trade Commission unanimously determined that there is a reasonable indication that a U.S. industry is materially injured by imports of certain steel threaded rod from India and Thailand that are allegedly sold in the U.S. at less than fair value and thought to be subsidized by the government of India. All six ITC commissioners voted in the affirmative.
The U.S. Department of Commerce will continue to investigate threaded rod imports. Its preliminary countervailing duty determination is due by September 20, 2013, and its preliminary antidumping duty determinations are due by December 4, 2013.
The Commission's public report – Certain Steel Threaded Rod from India and Thailand (Investigation Nos. 701-TA-498 and 731-TA-1213-1214 (Preliminary), USITC Publication 4420, August 2013) – contains Commission views and information developed during the investigations.
Copies of the report are available by emailing pubrequest@usitc.gov.
