2013-04-12

The 1st edition of “International Fastener Show Tainan, Taiwan 2013” (IFST) attracted a great number of representative exhibitors and created a result more than expected. Chairman Jim C.N. Chen described it as “Unexpected!” The populous onsite atmosphere also corresponds to the anticipation of “IT industry in the north, fastener industry in the south” vision proposed by Tainan City Mayor William Lai.

Within the 50km radius of the venue, it is the heartland of Taiwan fastener industry representing more than 80% of the total capacity of fastener production in Taiwan, making it easier for buyers to pay a visit to the main production base of Taiwan fastener industry. For instance, Ta Chen International , Inc. is just located across the street to the venue. This geological proximity shows “Good day! Nice location! Right people!” to Ta Chen as well.

Chairman Chen said the outcome was more than expected including the welcome party on 4/10 and the opening on 4/11. In addition to the exhibitors, more than 20 thousand visitors also came to join. This shows the unlimited business opportunities generated by the show.

Chen also pointed that the export amount of Taiwan fasteners last year reached 1.4 million tons, and the export value was nearly USD4 billion. The result was brilliant. Taiwan is really one of the most important supply countries of fasteners and related products for the globe.

According to statistics, almost every country once bought fasteners from Taiwan, which shows the powerful energy and excellent managing ability of the industry and created the trend of “IT industry in the north, fastener industry in the south.” The reason that Taiwan fastener industry keeps holding its advantage in the global competition is based on the long-term reputation, increasing quality & technology, and good material supply from China Steel in Taiwan, which makes it on top of the world.

There were about 8,000 buyers from 43 countries including developed markets like Europe and the U.S., or other new emerging markets with tremendous buying potential. Moreover, 19 seminars were concurrently given by speakers from German Wuerth , U.S. Fastenal, and Swiss Bossard and so on during the show, providing members with the most advanced technology and information.
